Two Down, Two to Go
For The Big Eight Series!

The competitors of the Big 8 Series continue their four week stretch
of race events this weekend at the Lake Geneva Raceway. The Series
will be competing in a 58-lap feature event on Sunday, October 1st
as part of the Victor Ford Final Fall Classic.
The four week stretch started two weeks ago when Ricky Bilderback
took the overall title at the Pepsi Wisconsin State Championships at
the Jefferson Speedway. Last weekend, Bilderback’s second and third
place finish at the 41st Annual Chicago International Trucks
National Short Track Championships at the Rockford Speedway, gave
him his second overall win for the season. He currently sits 54
points behind Jeremy Miller, who won the Big 8 Series event earlier
this year at Lake Geneva.
The Big 8 Series two previous events were twin feature races. At
Jefferson, Luke Westenberg and Bob Kahler each took home one of the
Twin 50-lap feature wins. Last Sunday at Rockford, it was Mike Beyer
and Ryan Carlson collecting a Twin 75-lap feature event victory. In
the last two events, 68 different drivers competed with an average
of 41 per event.
Both Miller and Bilderback are two to watch this weekend. Last year,
Bilderback and Rick Corso put on a great battle at this event that
had the fans on their feet. Corso was able to show his home track
advantage and beat Bilderback at the line.
The Big 8 Series will be qualifying at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September
30 with qualifying races starting at 6 p.m. The racing action gets
underway at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1st.
