Schoffen to Compete in Bandolero Saturday Night August 5th!

(Lake Geneva, Wis.,  August 3, 2006)- In just a few short days Lake Geneva raceway will be the home of the regional qualifier for the INEX legends and bandolero race cars that compete east of the Mississippi. This will be the third and final
event ever, as the raceway closes at the end of the 2006 season.

Besides the many drivers coming in to join us.Local driver Sonny Schoffen the LGR points leader in the late model race cars, will race a bandolero for the first time. Not to down play any of our regulars, including defending champion Kyle Palma the current points leader, there has been a great field of these cars this season. A season high 13 came out a few weeks ago. Another Kyle Justis is second in points, with rookie Steven Grossman third. Blake Brown another rookie is fourth.

The legends have a $1000 to win thanks to the nights sponsor, Speedway Auto Mall of Machesney Park, Illinois. Local favorites are points leader Ernie Schaal,who has raced one armed the last four weeks, due to a racing incident at Grundy, earlier in the month of July. Second in points is Michael Bilderback, who has won third straight features here. Kyle LaPier who raced bandoleros until last season is third. Curt Gnatzig the 2002 champion, has had his share of problems is fourth.

Drivers from 9 states are expected. The LGR super late models, super stocks and sportsman will also be here. Time trials are at 5:45 pm.racing at 7 pm.
