Rain Wipes Out Lake Geneva Raceway Finale, Will Try Next Saturday Night!

October 21, 2006;  Lake Geneva, WI. -  With the weather forecast stating 90 % change of rain, officials at Lake Geneva Raceway, Saturday night thought it’s a sure thing, we’ll get the show in, as rain never fell all day. At 4:00 pm. the radar
showed an eight hour window. We got it made. Well at 5:35, with just 10 minutes before time trials, things changed and the rain came. At 6:15 pm. the final race program was postponed until Saturday night October 28th. Originally Sunday
was to be the raindate, but wet snow was in the forecast, so next Saturday was the only choice.

The “run what ya brung” race show and the trailer races, will be the last race show for the public. Time trials begin at 5:45pm. and racing starting at 7 sharp. ”That last Saturday in October usually is great”, stated Kevin Dawson, the owner of the raceway. ”We will get this show in”, when ever the weather co-operates”, added Dawson.There will be a swap meet starting at  1 pm. before the race show.

The official raceway program book for the final season is available at the raceway office during the week, at the track next Saturday night and by mail. 4 to 8 more pages will be available after the awards banquet Feb.3rd.2007.By mail send,two 8 ˝ inch x 11 inch envelopes. One stamped and both self addressed, plus $7, to Lake Geneva Raceway 1015 Bloomfield Road Lake Geneva,WI. 53147. Only 200 books remain for saleas of today. The book without cover is 52 pages. The largest for any short track, according to Speedway Press, the folks who printed the book.
