Small Car Show Saw Rain, Schaal, Justis and Heywood Champs!

Geneva, WI. - Quality auto and
truck repair of Kenosha and Bilderback Auto parts of South Beloit
sponsored the final world class small car championships Friday night
at Lake Geneva Raceway. 15 year old
Kyle Jusits of Kenosha won his first championship of his career in
the INEX Bandolero race cars. Kyle, earlier in August won his second
championship in the “Summer shootout” held at Wisconsin State Fair
park up in West Allis. The LGR title went right down to the final
laps of the 20 lap feature, as 2005 champion Kyle Palma from Delavan
still had a chance
to pull off the victory ,but an earlier incident only placed the
defending champ in 7th. for the event.Jusits placed 4th. This
gave Jusits the edge, finishing 25 points ahead for the season.
The Allison legacy cars feature went to Mike
Breiner of Johnsburg.Ernie Schaal, 17 years old became the final
champion in the Perfection Auto Body INEX legends race cars,
finishing 4th. in the 20 lap feature, won by Jeremie Johnson all the
way up from Kankakee,Illinois in his first visit here. 2006
late model champion Sonny Schoffen driving Donny Schaal’s mount was
second.
Vince Heywood of nearby Antioch,IL. won the Luisa’s
pizzeria mini modified title. The second generation driver claimed
the crown, just 95 points ahead of Curt Thomazin of Elkhorn. he
feature race went to Spring Grove, IL.driver rookie, Nick Petska.
Rain washed out the rascal outlaw feature. Coming down from
Wisconsin Dells,15 year old Jake Jump won the super mini cup 20 lap
non stop race.
Rick Corso won the late model clash of champions,
with Keith Tolf Sonny Schoffen the 2006 champ here, Brian Ulrich,
Ken Johnson and Jeff Goodwin completing the top six.
The super late model clash went to Eddie Hoffman, as he nipped our
2006 champion Eddie May. Landry Potter was third, with Jamie
Iverson, Mike Meyerhofer and Jeff Storm.
On Thursday the fan participation show went off great. Over 30 fans
ran their own cars around the oval to time. The big wheels race went
to Cassie Schneider, 6 years old, over Ryan Diggs 7, of Pleasant
Prairie and Kaley Burns 2. of Yorkville,WI. The starter was Carrie
Diggs, age 9 of Pleasant Prairie.
Heidi Jo Dawson, kept her record intact, winning all the womens
races for both the BIC cars and super stocks. The late model
mechanics race went to Dave Edwards in the Brad Norgrad car.
The vintage cars were here and John Vassh of Caledonia won the 20
lap feature. One on one racing went to Chris Harmon in his
Oldsmobile.
