Another Friday Night Rainout at LGR!

August 18, 2006;  Lake Geneva, WI. - For the third time during our checkered flag season, the Friday night race program at Lake Geneva Raceway. Light rain began at 2pm.but no heavy rain ensued. Officials made the discision to decide by 6:30 pm. The radar service used by the raceway showed that by then, everything would be gone by around that time anyway. But at  6:20 it was heavier rain than all afternoon, forcing cancellation..

On hand were all points leaders in the divisions scheduled to race. LGR late models, Sonny Schoffen, Crystal Lake,Illinois, Ernie Schaal, Wauconda,IL. in the Perfection Auto Body INEX legends, Kyle Palma, Delavan in the INEX Bandolero cars, Andy Krueger, Lake Geneva in the weapons, Chris Bedore, Popular Grove, IL. in the rascal Outlaw series, Vince Heywood, Antioch,IL. in the Luisa’s pizzeria mini modifieds and Steve Doherty,Rockford,IL. in the Basic International cars.
Tom Palma of Delavan, a legends driver,w ill have major knee surgery on Wednesday and be out the remainder of the season. We wish Tom a speedy recovery.

Only two more weekly Friday night shows are scheduled. The championship for the legends and bandoleros will be Saturday night September 23rd. the same night as the super late models. The mini modifieds will be part of the Victor Ford Motorsports/Budlight Fall Classic, small car world championships. The BIC cars day two and three of the fall classic. All other regular LGR classes end that final Friday, Labor day weekend. For the first time in six years, the Dwarf cars will be part of the small champion show. This coming Friday night time trials began at 6pm.racing at 7:30. The entry form will be on the LGR  website soon. Or stop at the raceway office.

On Monday night the 21st.the District 27 1-A will hold their final Lions Club race ever. Time trials begin at 6pm. racing at 7pm.The first show here was some 36 years ago. Tickets are still available from Lions club members or at the gate Monday afternoon starting at 4pm. Participating clubs include Big Foot,Caledonia(WI)Williams Bay, Tichigan Lake, South Milwaukee, Palmyra, Dousman, Richfield, Burlington, Lyons(WI) East Troy and Mukwonago. Support also comes from Kenosha. The sponsor for the evening will be FCF metal salvage of Burlington.
