May and Regnier Make It Seven
By  Dale R. Erdmann

August 12, 2006;  Lake Geneva, WI. - It was another beautiful night as the weather was ideal, at Lake Geneva Raceway, Saturday night. ddie May of Crystal Lake, Illinois, the super late model current points leader got back on track,
after last weeks dismal run. Tonight May won his seventh super late model 40 lap feature, took third in time and second in the dash to gain some points on the competition. The same story can be told for Adam Regnier of Twin Lakes, his night was just like May’s, including winning the McHenry Limousine super stock feature. Adam gained 20 points tonight on his fellow
drivers, in his quest for the final championship. John Janssen of Burlington finally got back in the groove in the Performance Unlimited sportsman race cars. John took second in the dash and won the 25 lap non stop feature, to move within 50 points of the top of the standings. Then Jeff Myers of Elgin, IL.took fast time, ran fourth in the dash and his heat, then won the 20 lap super mini cup feature.

Jeff Myers won the Mini-Cup feature and posed in victory with Darren and Dustin Day of the Lake County News-Sun.

The super late model feature brought first nighter Michael Bachaus in front of the field when the first greens were shown. Denny Hiffman was second followed by Rob Summers, Mike Lange and Rick Corso. The first Yellow Book USA caution came out on lap four, when Jason Hicks and John Baumeister got together. On the restart Bachaus walked right out front, with Lange getting around Hiffman. The next caution came after Josh Wallace and Corso tangled, while running second and third.

This again tightened up the field, but Bachaus was up to the call and stayed out front one more time, as lap nineteen began. But this time Eddie May was running second and fast timer Mike Meyerhofer right next to him. Laps twenty through twenty three it was a side by side duel for the lead. May finally got by Bachaus who ran a great twenty three laps in front. On lap
twenty nine Meyerhofer moved into second. For those next eleven laps it was May staying out front for his seventh win. Meyerhofer took second, Landry Potter third, with James Swan in Terry Patnode’s mount next and Jamie Wallace nipping Bachaus for sixth.

The sportsman feature went non stop, as Kenny Smart led lap number one, before Gary Norton drove in front of the pack. Norton stayed out front until John Janssen moved in front and stayed ahead of Cliff Adee for the win. Before the checkered Adee challenged the leader from lap eight until the checkered.Erik Pierce the points leader was third, Smart was fourth,
Adam Mass was fifth and Norton sixth.

The super stock feature wasn’t it’s normal self, as the event was plagued by a ton of caution flags and took over twenty minutes to run the first nine laps. The time limit was near when all out racing ensued with Adam Regnier winning the race, three lengths ahead of Jack Rubach, the quick qualifier. With 34 minutes in the book, Tom Roney took third, with Joe DeCubellis next, Craig Mertes was fifth and Scott Norton sixth.

The super mini cup feature brought Alex Yerdizerski, the last feature winner here, out front. A spot that he held until lap ten, when Jeff Myers took over the lead and never looked back for the win ten laps later. One caution came on  lap twenty eight, when Carl Turner spun out. Erik Gerhke was second, with Yerdizerski third, in fourth place was Ernie Schaal INEX legends points leader. Here ,in his first ride in a mini cup, Ken Jones was fifth and Andy Forester sixth.

Next Saturday night Turbo Blue, Jim Adams Auto Body and Dowe and Wagner Heating of Twin Lakes and McHenry,IL. sponsor the program. It’s the final round of the last No Bull series for the super late models. There will be no increase in admission spectator prices and children under 8 are free with a parent.
