Another Win For May, New Bandolero Record Set!
By Dale R. Erdmann

June 24, 2006;  Lake Geneva, WI. - With rain everywhere but here the Saturday night race show at Lake Geneva raceway was completed quickly and race fans got out of the facility by 9:30 pm. Points leader Eddie May of Crystal Lake, Illinois won the 40 lap feature for the super late model race cars. Another points leader Adam Regnier of Twin Lakes won the close McHenry Limousine super stock feature. Ernie Schaal of Wauconda,IL. won the 15 lap feature for the Perfection Auto Body INEX legends cars. In a heart breaker, Sloan Henderson a 13 year old national INEX bandolero driver made the trip from Franklin,Ohio, to win her heat and the 20 lap feature with an all time record 13 race cars here. But a post race inspection took the win away and Kyle Palma of Delavan who finished second got the win. The INEX Official present said that 600 racing would make the final determination on the ruling, because a representive for Henderson said that they could not go by the ruling.

The Bandoleros were on hand and treated the fans to some good racing. Going three-wide here are Aaron Moyer (#140), Jesse
Bernhagen (#28) and Caylie Duncanson (#18).

John Baumeister moved in front of the super late model field when the feature began, with Kenny Joosten, Randy Rodgers and Jamie Wallace next. By lap four Joosten was knocking on the leaders door and there was a new leader by the end of the lap. Josh Wallace winner of the last two features, followed the new leader one lap later, with Mike Meyerhofer now fifth. The race stopped for debris on the track for the first Yellow Book USA caution period, during lap eleven. On the restart Jamie Wallace got the break he needed picking the correct lane when the cone came out. He jumped all over Joosten as the green appeared again. For the next six laps they raced too close to call.

Wallace became the leader just two laps before midway.May was only fifth
at that time. But then came lap twenty four and the next caution period,May
gained three positions on the restart. One lap later May was at the rear bumper of the leader and with ten laps to go, there was a new leader. At the checkered May held back a resurging Jamie Wallace, quick qualifier Landry Potter, Terry Patnode, Jason Hicks and Josh Wallace.

Josh Matz stormed out front of the super stock feature with lots of action
behind him. Lap five the only caution period of the entire race took place after
Dave Edwards and Sam Redman got together. When racing resumed Matz still
walked the field with Tom Roney right on his bumper.A see/saw battle ensued
until lap twelve when Roney moved in front. The cluster behind the new leader
was a great display of racing, as Bob Moeller, Matz, Ken Eisbrenner, Dan Huber and now Adam Regnier were in the mix. With his quest to the front, Regnier was on the move, passing Huber on lap twenty, Eisbrenner on lap twenty five to then be running third. It wasn’t easy to get by Moeller as he was working on Roney, but on lap twenty eight, the feat was nearly complete, but Moeller fell prey to a determined challenger. With just one lap to go, it was a dead heat for that top stop. Regnier came across the line first, with Roney, Moeller, Scott Norton, Eisbrenner and Joe DeCubellis in a barn burner finish.

The bandolero feature saw Aaron Moyer pace the field at the display of the
double greens. Blaz Cody scooted into first one lap later, with Tyler Blume
moving into second, Moyer was still third, but Sloan Henderson was up to
fifth by lap five and then second one lap later. Brian Heisler who was having an awful night, pun in turn four, bringing the race to a halt. When the next green came out Henderson moved quickly into a safe margin over now Kyle Palma, Steven Grossman, point leader Kyle Justis and third week driver Blake Brown.

Lap eleven Hope Bidlack dropped out with problems that have plagued her
since opening night. The race would be for second, as Henderson went on
to win the race by a small margin. Palma was second ,with Justis,Grossman,
Blume and Jesse Bernhagen to round out the top six. A post race inspection
dropped Henderson to last. This moved Cody Daul to sixth, as everyone else
moved up and Palma became the winner.

The legends feature was a tight close race with Tom Palma moving out
front at the off set of the race. The caution came out, as Michael Bilderback
dropped out with a broken throttle. On the start of lap two, again Palma took
over the lead, with Kyle LaPier, Ernie Schaal and Ross Kenseth. Curt Gnatzig
in a different race car moved around Kenseth on lap three and La Pier worked on the leader for the next nine laps, before taking over the top spot with just five laps to go. Those final laps were excellent, as it looked like LaPier would score his first win of the season. But on the final lap coming off turn four the leader got alittle wide, letting Schaal the room he needed to win the race.

LaPier was second,Palma third,Ryan Miles fourth,Gnatzig fifth and second
generation driver Ross Kenseth sixth in this great race.

Next Saturday night is trailer race time,as R A Adams of McHenry,IL.
night. Besides the trailer races, the super late models, super stocks and sportsman will put on a race program.Time trials begin at 5:45 pm. racing at 7 pm.
