A full night of racing was capped off by a wild and unpredictable Trailer Race.

The super late model feature began like this. Earl Counter moved out
front of the twenty car field, with John Baumeister, Don Collins in his brand
new race car next. Lap number two brought out the first Yellow Book USA
caution period for a mid field brake check that sent everyone behind them scattering. On the restart Baumeister crept in front for two laps before Kenny Joosten spun, after unknown contact with someone. Under way one more time Counter out raced Baumeister into turn one to regain the lead. Josh Wallace smoothly moved through the field securing second on lap seven and the lead on lap eleven. Three more cautions came on lap fifteen, sixteen and seventeen, as Jeff Holmgren Jr. workered on Counter. At midpoint Wallace had a sizable lead, with Counter, Holmgren and now Terry Patnode under a blanket for second.

There was non stop racing for the next sixteen laps, then came lap thirty four and it took two restarts to keep things going. Wallace moved back out front until lap thirty seven when Eddie May got along side the leader. They raced side by side
for the the remainder of the lap when May inched ahead and went on to win the main event. Wallace held onto second with Patnode nipping Holmgren for third. Jason Hicks finished fifth and Randy Rodgers sixth.

In super stock action, Craig Mertes moved in front of the field when the green appeared. Josh Matz held onto second for the next four laps before rookie Brad Drach moved by. Darryl Traber was fourth by lap six, with Tom Roney and Dan Clemenz next. Fast qualifier Sonny Schoffen dropped out on lap
fourteen with over heating problems, just as Clemenz got around Traber for third. Up front Mertes who had held a clean line since the off set of the event, was now being challenged by Drach, two laps later there was a new leader. It took Clemenz four laps to get around second place Mertes and just
two more to take over the lead. The final lap was the whole show as Clemenz took the win just in front of Traber, Bob Moeller, Jack Rubach, Drach and Scotty Norton, as the top nine were looking like a parade lap on that final lap. A post
race inspection dropped Clemenz for the whole night.. The reason was not known at press time.

John DeMay shot out front of the mini modified feature with Jerry Giuliano in the Glenn Vernezze car along side before the lap eneded, then in front one lap later. Bill Trusky took only six laps to move up to second after taking fast time earlier. With just three laps to go Trusky finally caught the leader and went on to win the non stop event. Giuliano held onto second
with Jesse Johnson along side for third. Curt Thomazin was fourth with 2005 rookie of the year Barry Trusky fifth in his first good night of the young season. Vince Heywood was sixth.

The super mini cups feature started off on the rocky road, but once five laps were completed things got a lot better. Mick Ellis led from the get go, with Erik Gehrke second. From the back Jake Jump was start his quest forward, until problems slowed his pace. Gehrke moved in front during laps six through nine, then Ellis moved back in front, for one more. Gehrke then moved back out front, going on to win by a close margin, as Andy Forster took second. Jeff Myers was right there in third. Ellis was fourth, with Ken Jones and Alex Yerdizerski in a dead heat for fifth and sixth.

Next Saturday night the rescheduled  “No bull series” sponsored by 5 Star-race Car Bodies of Twin Lakes. The weapons division will join the other regular divisions on the card, with no increase in admission prices. Time trials begin at 5:45 pm. races at 7 sharp.
