Dave Edwards started his season off right by setting Fast Time for the Super Stocks.

Before the races began, the crowd stood for a moment of silence in memory of former drivers Matt Bentz and Terry Crawl, who recently passed. Also for Dick Tucker the Promoter of Jefferson Speedway.

The dash events were won by Bob Moeller in the Chuck’s Storage super stock event, John Janssen in the sportsman and Eddie May in the Barker’s reconditioning sponsored super late model dash.

14 year old Tyler Peterson, a third generation driver had a great rookie night, winning the semi feature for the super stock cars. Tyler was a Burris circle track racer for five years.

The super late model feature was less than one lap old, before things began to happen causing a complete restart. Jeff Lorenz moved out front again, as the first full lap was  recorded, with Dave Thomas right on his back side. The next Yellow Book USA  caution period came on lap seven when Brandon Hill who moved into second three laps earlier and Randy Rodgers made contact. Lorenz now had Eddie May to contend with a the next green appearing. Terry Patnode was also on the move slipping into third the next lap. The caution was displayed on lap seventeen when Lorenz flew onto the back straightaway wall nearly rolling over, before coming to rest on his wheels in turn three. Somehow Jeff Holmgren Jr. got collect in the melee. No one was injuried. But Lorenz night was over as Holmgren returned fourteen laps later, minus the front fenders and the hood. Darnell out raced Patnode to turn one on the restart. It would  be nonstop racing for the next twenty three laps. Before the checkered Patnode moved inside Darnell from time to time, but never held on for an entire lap. In his first showing in a super late, 2005 Limited Late Model champion Josh Wallace, raced the Fran Prestay mount to third, with
defending champion Jamie Wallace fourth, Jeff Way fifth and Matt Kocourek sixth.

Bill Morris shot out front of the super stock feature race with Vaughn Lesko and Josh Metz next.Lap three things got wild in front of the flag stand as Lesko wacked the wall, but continued, as Dan Clemenz nipped the wall as the caution was displayed. No one was injuried, but Clemenz night was over. Morris reclaimed the lead, as another caution came before the next lap could be completed.Tom Jastrab was the next to graze the wall. Under way again, Tyler Peterson stalled in turn four after spinning. Finally the next green came with Morris holding back the challenges of Dave Melahn ,Tom Roney,Jack Rubach and quick qualifier Dave Edwards.

Roney out maneuvered every on lap eight and became the new leader. Morris
wasn’t content with second, inching back in front the next lap, but then Roney
took over the top spot for good the next go round.Lap twelve Edwards retired to the pits with unknown problems. The event went non stop until the checkered with Roney taking the win. Melahn held onto second, with Rubach third, Randy Schneider claimed fourth, with Ken Eisbrenner fifth and Bob Moeller sixth.

Jerry Freeman moved in front of the sportsman field as the first lap of the
feature was completed. Jack Clark, Rick Rowlett and Danny Powell all wanted second. Lap three and four saw a pair of caution flags. On the restart Mike Smart gained the most from those two slow downs taking over the front spot on lap eight after a tussle with Freeman. Former street stock driver Rob Braun was on the move creeping in on the new leader on lap eleven, then along side for a few laps before grabbing the lead on lap sixteen. John Janssen quickly followed but Jeremy Bloomberg was right there too. Adam Mass joined the fray with the next caution slowing the action on lap fourteen. On the restart Bloomberg outraced Braun to the corner taking over the front spot before the next caution two laps later. Bloomberg went on to win the race ahead of fast timer Erik Pierce who was second, James Swan took third, with Janssen, Smart and Powell so close at the checkered.

Next Saturday night the first ever appearance of the weapons cars will be
here, along with the other three divisions. The junior fan club children 12 and
under will get their chance to ride in a race car. Time trials begin at 5:45 pm.
races right after the kids rides.
