Big Weekend Planned at LGR!

September 8, 2005;  Lake Geneva, WI. -In just a few short hours Lake Geneva Raceway known for it’s exciting stock car racing and motocross racing will be the scene of one big night of family fun.

At 7 pm. Friday night the second tournament of destruction will take place. What  is a show like this,you may ask ? It’s 3 hours of total mayhem. There will be lots of thrills with things like a monster truck trying to crush a 30 foot motorhome.A roll
over contest,tag team races,back 2 back races,train races,a chain race (where the lead car does the racing, the middle car is just there and the last car does the braking), the long jump and the most popular event in the last ten years,the trailer races.
Special guests include the Miltown wheelie Boyz and topping off the night will be  former Milwaukee resident Doug Rose and his Green Mamba jet dragster doing those incredible car meltdowns.

On Saturday night the action paved oval comes alive with a special race show. Bilderback Auto parts of South Beloit,Illinois will present the INEX bandolero and INEX legends cars season championship.In the bandolero class that features  youngsters from the age of 9 years old up to 40,it’s a promoters dream, as two 16  year old drivers are tied in points for the lead.Branden Allen of Yorkville,IL. and Kyle Palma from Delavan are the drivers. Third currently is Michael Cooter, fourth
Hope Bidlack of Genoa City and Kenosha driver Kyle Justis.

In the legends race cars, it’s a mix field of drivers ranging in age from 13 to 55 years of age. This points battle is another nail biter as Eric Lokemoen who comes all the way down from Merrill has dedicated this season to his late Mother, Kathy now holds a 45 point lead. 16 year old Ernie Schaal a second generation driver from Wauconda, IL.has been  on a great run most of the season,winning last Fridays feature by three inches willadd to the pressure. Defending champion Curt Gnatzig of Hartford is just 65 points out of first and 13 year old Michael Bilderback who totally demolished his race  car down at Charlotte,NC. two weeks ago,is just 85 points out of the lead. Mike was the 2003 and 2004 bandolero champion.In the legends he was rookie of the year last season and finished fourth in the final standings. Bilderback ranks first in the nation in the INEX points battle. Don Schaal, Ernie’s father is fifth in points.

The super late models, super stocks and sportsman will also be on the card. There will be no increase in admission prices and children under 8 are free with parents. Time trials begin at 5:45 pm. with the first exciting race at 7 sharp.
