LGR Set for 39th Season Operner April 2nd!

March 27, 2005; Lake Geneva, WI. - With the best weather for this early
spring Lake Geneva Raceway is ready to open its gates this coming Saturday night for
the 2005 weekly season of oval track stock car racing.
On April 2nd. the super late models,super stocks and the
sportsman race cars will race for points towards the season championship in late
September. Drivers who compete in 75% of the total shows run will share in the point
fund at the awards banquet on February 4th. 2006 when all the champions will be honored.
The pit area will open at noon because the tech weekend was cancelled last weekend. Time
trials will be at 5:45 pm. and the first race at 7pm.
The first special will take place on Saturday night April 16th. with the 2nd. season for
the LGR millennium late models up against the Jefferson and Columbus Speedway cars. Other
divisions with these rules are welcomed to travel here for this big night.Last season Jeff
Steenbergen a visiting driver out of Waupun won the feature coming down to the wire to the
delight of the crowd.
Other big nights include May 28th.July 2nd. and August 20th. for the wild and crazy
trailer races .The first annual John Jindra Sr. memorial night,sponsored by Quality Tire
and American car care center from Spring Grove,Illinois. John unexceptedly past away last
November and John Jr. his son now rans the company on his own. Quality Tires
supplied drivers around the country with competitive tires for many years before the big
companies took over.This show will be June 4th. The Lynch
Motors night featuring the Yellow Book USA mid Americans will be on June 18th. after the
annual motorsports show at the dealership in Burlington.
One of the biggest shows held at the raceway will be July 9th. as the INEX legend cars and
bandoleros will hold the first national event for a regional qualifier race night.The
other three divisions will also race that night.Speedway Auto Mall will sponsor this
show.Last year a large field of legend cars came in from around the country. This
year even more cars will be excepted.Added to this show the bandoleros will hold the same
type of show .LGR regulars will be ready for many regional drivers.
Other large regional event has now been added to the schedule as the NASCAR touring elite
series returns to the famous raceway in the annual Al Schill Jr.
memorial race on August 6th. The super stocks will join this night sponsored by Auto Zone
stores.
The Budlight Fall classic will top off the season on Saturday and Sunday October 1st and
2nd.Over 350 drivers in some 8 divisions will be here.
