Bud Light October Classic Goes On A LIttle Late! Bob Koch Wins BIC Championship! By Dale R. Erdmann

October 2, 2005;  Lake Geneva, WI. - They may have said it’s fall,but the weather was again Excellent for day number two of the Budlight Fall Classic, at Lake Geneva Raceway Sunday. On Saturday night the show was quickly ended after a large section of debris Fence was knocked down.after a modified race car went over the tires of another race Car and flew hight onto the fence, knocking it down ,then sending debris into the large crowd, injuring five race fans.

Matt Kocourek visited Victory Lane after winning the Super Late Model feature. Matt Kocourek (#43) battles with Fran Prestay (#99) on his way to winning the 75-lap Super Late Model feature. Jacob Humphrey won one of the Super Late Model B-mains. Adam Regnier (#73) challenges Dave Melahn (#1F) for a position during the Super Stock feature. John Senerchia (#77) held off Bill Prietzel (#5) to win his first ever Mid-American Stock Car Series feature. Scott Lawyer won the Super Street Stock feature. Steve Doherty (#49) races with Lenny Adams during the BIC feature. Doherty went on to victory.

On Sunday morning Aronson fence company from Waconda,Illinois along with the LGR safety crew, fans and drivers helped put a fence up and the show went on alittle late. Bob Koch, the 2000 Basic International champion, won his second title here with 4380 in the points battle.second place went to Steve Doherty who won this afternoons
20 lap feature race for the pure stocks,Lenny Adams is third in the standings with 4005 points,fourth Matt Booker with 3415 and fifth Kevin Hill with 3385.

Besides the late start, two big downpours stopped the show, but with the help of the Street stock and pure stocks the show did go on.In the super late model 75 lap feature Racine’s Matt Kocourek,a former champion here won the event. Adam Regnier won the controversial 30 lap feature for the Burlington Glass street stock cars. Jeff VanHandel of Freedom pulled off a win in the Wisconsin mini sport trucks feature race. Scott Lawver of Beloit won the action packed McHenry Limousine super street stock  20 lap feature. Orfordville race driver Jim Robinson won the 25 lap enduro division feature race and the Big 8 series was the event everyone waited for, as Rick Corso of McHenry,IL. won the race just in front of the pack.
