Mike Van Houten Wins MM Championship
Kyle LaPier Nearly Clean Sweeps Two Divisions!

September 30, 2005; Lake Geneva, WI. - The weather was beautiful and for the
first time in three years, the Quality auto and truck repair of Kenosha small car world
championships took place on the scheduled night.The best crowd in the history of this
event came out to enjoy the first night of a three day weekend at Lake Geneva Raceway
Friday night.
Mike Van Houten of Cary,Illinois made it look exciting as he took
fast time,
won the heat and the 15 lap feature race for a clean sweep.Mike took the points standings
by just thirty five points over Curt Thomazin .In third for
the season is Glen Vernezze with 3165 points, Jerry Giuliano has 3120 and Chris Thomazin
completed the top five with 2815 points.
There were seven clean sweeps tonight in the ten classes that ran tonight.
Other events included the INEX Perfection auto part legends cars we added at the last
minute for a unpoints showing. Kyle LaPier a 15 year old youngster from Belvidere,IL.won
the 15 lap feature race, the dash and took fast time, for a clean sweep of the action.
LaPier also ran his
bandolero car, that is usually driven by his cousin and just missed another clean sweep by
taking fast time and winning the 11 lap feature race.
In the formula indy cars Michigan driver Paul Bosier made his trip worth
the miles, by taking fast time, winning the heat and the 10 lap feature,for a clean sweep
of that class.Rockford Speedway American shorter B.J. Sparkman took a clean sweep of the 4
cylinder race vehicles by taking fast time, winning the heat and the 15 lap feature.
Kansasville driver Ryan Marshall clean swept the F200 champs in the Burris
circle track go karts. Former LGR late model champion Jacob Humphrey of Lake Geneva did
the same in the senior karts. Sean Clavey won the 10 lap junior sprtsman champ karts and
Nick Chiapetta won the 10 lap feature for the F200 karts over Joe Moser who fast time and
won the heat. 15 year old Jake Jump of Wisconsin Dells won the 15 lap feature For the
super mini cup cars. In the 5 to 6 year olds, Christian Janssen of Burlington won the
feature race.
Kip Novotny of Johnsburg,IL. had another clean sweep to win the
championship for the rascal outlaws and win the championship for the Open wheel class.
The mini modified feature got off to a rocky start, as Bill Trusky spun in turn four, with
everyone missing him, but it was the first Yellow book caution period that followed. On
lap four Mike Van Houten was up front after starting in the back of the event.The next
caution came after Jesse Johnson spun and two laps later for a spin by Scott McCarthy.Each
time VanHouten would stay in front of the field.
The next small car event will be May 5th. for the World class spring
opener.
