going into tonights action Eric Lokemoen held a slim 45 point lead for the title.
When it was all said and done, the 2005 champion in the legends cars is Lokemoen from Merrill, with just 10 points over defending champion Curt Gnatzig. Third is 16 year old Ernie Schaal of Wauconda, IL. just 5 points behind Gnatzig and fourth 13 year old Michael Bilderback of South Beloit,IL. just 5 points behind Schaal. With this ending to a great season, these four drivers had just twenty points separate them selfs from first to fourth. ”What a way to end this season“ said Lokemoen who dedicated the season to his late Mother Kathy. Not to take away from the 20 lap feature race, the winner was Michael Bilderback,in his fourth feature of the year,Michael also won the dash.

In the bandolero cars it was another great run, going into tonights action the points battle was tied for first place,as Branden Allen and Kyle Palma would be looking for the best possible finish. In the qualifying Kyle Palma out of Delavan a 17 year old   youngster in his second season took fast time to gain 15 points over Allen. Then 16 year old Branden Allen came back with a win in the dash to gain 5 points back. Then Kyle Palma took second in the feature for 15 laps, to clinch the crown by just 35 points. The feature was won by Michael Cooter of Machesney Park,IL. Cooter current ranks second in the nation for national INEX points with just two weeks to go across the country. In the standings Palma won with 2830 points,Allen is second with
2795,Cooter is third with 2630,rookie and only female competitor Hope Bidlack from Genoa City fourth with 2425 points and Kyle Justis of Kenosha with 2375 in fifth place for the season.

Both divisions will race again this coming Saturday night September 17th. as everyone will receive 300 appearance points if they show up to race.

In the super late model division Terry Patnode of South Milwaukee won his second 40 lap feature of the year. Adam Regnier of Twin Lakes scored his ninth 25 lap feature  win in the McHenry Limousine super stocks and Erik Pierce of Lake in the Hills,IL. won his fourth 25 lap sportsman feature race.

The legends feature got off to a poor start as the group entered turn four, rookie Ryan Miles was leading the race, with Eric Lokemoen on the inside of first nighter Don Renner as the two made contact and around went Renner. This required a complete restart and Renner’s night was over. With the next green displayed Miles again moved in front with Don Schaal, Tom Palma, Lokemoen and Curt Gnatzig all over the front runner. Palma smoothly gained a position at the end of two, with the battle for the top spot. By lap  eight there was a new leader. Just behind second place Miles, Ernie Schaal and Gnatzig were putting on a show for third, which turned into a see/saw battle for the position.

Midway Michael Bilderback was running fifth and not looking like he would be able to clear those next four cars. On lap eleven Miles got his second wind and inched back into the lead. Quickly Ernie Schaal followed,as Palma was now third. It was so close at the front, you could have put a blanket over the top eight. Lokemoen started to slow dramatically due to a bad plug wire, but stayed in the race. Two more laps were recorded as Bilderback climbed to fourth on lap thirteen, then third with just five laps to go. It was tight at the front with Ernie Schaal working on Miles for that lead.Bilderback moved outside Schaal but that didn’t faze him,as he went past Miles in a three deep race for the lead.Schaal took over the top spot with Bilderback still along him.One lap later the lead would change again and the crowd went wild as Bilderback pulled off thewin, in a thrilling feature race Gnatzig nipped Ernie Schaal for second, with Palma   fourth and Miles fifth.

Collin Laursen charged in front of the bandolero feature with Michael Cooter glued to his right side. Entering lap two, Cooter slipped in front with Kyle Palma third and Kyle LaPier fourth. The close formation remained as from further back Kyle Justis and Branden Allen were tight in traffic finally breaking through. The top eight were very close, entering lap ten with no changes for those past laps. With just  one lap to go Palma finally got under Laursen to clinch the title. The race ended in fine fashion with Cooter picking up his fourth feature for the season, Palma was the new champion in second,Laursen was third,LaPier fourth and Allen fifth as they finished so close.

With just one more week to go the sportsman feature was very important to many, as Rick Rowlett moved in front of the field at the sight of the double greens. Gary Norton settled into second with John Janssen and Adam Mass battling for the
next spot.Just after Mass went into third, Adam spun the next time around and out came the first Yellow Book USA caution period of the night. Rowlett led the next half lap before Janssen went in front.Erik Pierce moved into second one lap later,
with points leader and quick qualifier Kenny Joosten next. Laps eleven through twelve it was a see/saw fight for the front spot, before Janssen secured the spot for the next five laps. Then Pierce climbed back on top, with Janssen so close. The race went to Pierce, with Janssen and Joosten next. The race for fourth was great, as Kenny Smart came across the line just in front of John Fischer in one of his best runs to date.

The super stock feature would go non stop with Tom Jastrab, Mike Hansen, Randy Schneider, Bill Morris and Adam Regnier all over each other for the race for the top.Schneider and Regnier moved up, then Regnier had to get by Schneider
and did by lap five.Josh Wallace joined the fray, with Mike Gunderson the fast time qualifier right behind the top four. Regnier inched in front on lap seven. Within a few laps Regnier ran off and never looked back for a big win. The race was behind the winner, as Wallace secured second, Gunderson was third, points leader Scott Norton next and last weeks feature winner Ken Eisbrenner fifth in another great race.

The super late model feature started out with Mike Meyerhofer in front. Billy Baumeister was next followed by Jeff Lorenz and Kent Burkoth trying to be third. Burkoth was on the move, taking second on lap eleven and out front five laps later.
Also moving up quickly was Terry Patnode.Fourth on lap fifteen, third on lap sixteen, and second on lap nineteen. On lap twenty eight Patnode took over the lead. Then one lap later the first of two caution periods came. On the restart Patnode moved out front, with a new threat Eddie May who had was right on the new leaders tail. Then came Burkoth, Landry Potter and Jason Hicks. The final caution came with five laps to go. On the restart it would be a dash to remember,as Potter got under May,as Patnode went on to win, May was second with Jamie Wallace the quick timer third, Potter
fourth and Burkoth fifth to be another fantastic finish.

This coming Saturday night the supers of the 70’s return for their second evervisit here, as many will recall the beginning of racing here at the raceway. Plus the five other divisions will race, the badoleros, legends, super late models, super stocks
and the sportsman championship will take place.

There will be no increase in  spectator admission prices, with time trials at 5:45 pm. and the first race at 7pm.
