Collin Laursen set Fast Time for the Bandoleros.

Roadrunner driver Duane Lounsbuny of Beloit won his first career feature in the brand new weapons division for their 15 lap feature and Steve Doherty of Woodstock,IL. had a clean sweep in the Double R towing Basic International cars, by taking fast time, winning the dash and the non stop 15 lap feature race. Over 100 race cars participated in tonight' show.

Hermann Greinig in his first appearance of the season slipped in front of the legends feature, with Tom Palma, visiting Ryan Ellis and Ernie Schaal tight on the leader. The field remained close, but Schaal was able to advance to second by lap five, then in front one lap later. Quickly Eric Lokemoen followed the new leader with Sonny Schoffen in the Don Schaal race car right on Palma’s back side. With just five laps to go fast timer Curt Gnatzig who battled with Schoffen for a few laps took over third, with Michael Bilderback now working on Schoffen. The final five laps were picture perfect, as Schaal held back Lokemoen for the win, followed by Gnatzig, Bilderback and Schoffen under a blanket.

It took Neal Gillentine until the final lap nipping Grant Greenfield at the line by just a few inches to the delight of the crowd. DeRon DeBoer was third, with Vern Brown  at his side for fourth and Kai McNulty in the middle for another great feature finish in the Formula Indy cars.

The bandolero feature got off to a rocky start as Andy Luebke only in his third night of racing led the opening lap, but spun in turn four in front of the field. This set up a situation that sent Branden Allen flying over the hood of Tyler Blume before both
slid up to the wall..No one was injured and everyone returned before the next green, despite a bent axle on Blume’s car. Kyle Palma moved in front as the next green came out, remaining the leader until the final lap. Earlier Collin Laursen who took fast time challenged the leader from lap five until lap nine, before retiring to the pits with problems. Kyle Jusits took over the challenge as he pulled inside the leader. Palmawas up for the challenge, but then the white flag came out and it was a dead heat for the lead until the race to the wire. Jusits was just in front for his first win, as Palma was second,Hope Bidlack was third, with Allen recovering for fourth and Luebke in his best finish to date claiming fifth.

It took Steve Doherty fourteen laps to catch Jason Spittle and come home the winner. Spittle settled for second, with Bob Koch third, Jack Rabey was fourth and Tom Homan was fifth in the non BIC feature.

The regular family fun night will be off one week. Next Friday night the regular Saturday night moves back one night due to the Auto zone NASCAR touring elite show. On Friday night the Budweiser super late models, the Performance Unlimited
sportsman, BIC cars, Lusia’s pizzeria mini modifieds and Midwest sport trucks will be on the special card for a points show.Time trials begin at 6pm. racing at  7:30 sharp. A special weekend pass will be on sale for the two nights of racing.
