First Career Wins For Giuliano and Tomasi! By Dale R. Erdmann, Kim Straube and Breanna Blink

July 22, 2005;  Lake Geneva, WI. - .Friday night was the coolest day of the week at Lake Geneva Raceway, as the temperature was only 94 degrees at race time.Jerry Giuliano of Schuamburg, Illinois won his first career win in the Lusia’s pizzeria mini modifieds 15 lap feature race.Mark Tomasi of Wind Lake won his first career 15 lap feature in the new weapons division.

Josh Wallace set Quick Time for the Late Model division. Josh Wallace (#8) ducks inside Brian Ulrich (#23) to take the lead of the Late Model feature. Kip Novotny won the Rascal Outlaws feature. He is pictured with LGR Jr. Fan Club member Shelby Swan. Jerry Giuliano (#2) held off a late charge by Curt Thomazin (#40) to win the Mini-mod main. Moments after this photo was taken (#2) Steve Johnson and (#3) Chad Ross made contact sending them both hard into the wall during the Sport Truck feature. After winning his first heat race of the year earlier in the night, Michael Shorten examines his car after it landed on the other side of the pit wall in a BIC semi- feature skirmish. Jason Conrad was victorious in one of the BIC heat races.

Steve Doherty of Woodstock,IL. won his second 15 lap Double R towing Basic International cars feature of the year. Kip Novotny from Johnsburg,IL. took fast time and won the 20 lap non stop Rascal outlaws feature race. Dale Gustum of Genoa City won his second 12 lap Midwest sport truck feature of the season and Josh Wallace continued to dominate the late model class by running away with the 25 lap feature race.

A stunned crowd stood for a moment of silence in the memory of Patricia(Pat) Resko co-promoter of the pro motocross racing that has taken place on the stadium dirt course the past 15 years. Resko died last Thursday at the age of 56, after a bout with pneumonia for the past month.Pat will be missed by all of us at the raceway.

Chris Thomazin took the lead of the mini modified feature and held the front spot until lap three when Jerry Giuliano moved in front and never looked back.Despite a late bobble, giving Curt Thomazin time for a serious challenge to the leader.
The leader held his own taking the win just in front of Thomazin.Mike VanHouten was third, Bill Trusky was fourth and Chris Thomazin fifth.

Ed Wahsinski led lap number one of the weapons feature,before Mark Tomasi took Over the top spot and capture the win fourteen laps late.On lap five Wahsinski tagged Quick qualifier Reid Kahr Jr.sending him around.Tomasi won the event ahead of MarkLudke, a recovered Kahrs Jr. , Jeff Schultz and Bobo Smith.

Friday night July 29th.the Perfection auto body INEX legends cars and the INEX Bandoleros return along with four more divisions of action,including the first appearance of the formula indy cars. Time trials begin at 6pm.racing at 7:30 sharp.
