Ken Johnson capped off a tough night by winning the Mini-Mod feature.

Shane Bishop held the lead for the first two laps of the super late model feature before Brandon Hill moved in front. On lap five the first Yellow Book USA caution period began after Michael Kruschke, Vincent Merry and Mike Simon Jr.tangled.

Hill raced back in front when the restart was underway, with Eddie May, Bishop and Denny Hiffman all right there. Just two more laps were recorded when Kent Burkoth spun stopping the action. Hill grabbed the lead again with May, Joe Fischer and now Fran Prestay putting on the pressure. Terry Patnode joined the front four on lap eleven and within three laps he got past Fischer after a hard fought battle. May worked on Hill for nearly eight laps before he securely moved in front of the field.Prestay got by Hill four laps later and went right after the leader, with Patnode just waiting for a mistake. On lap twenty six Kruschke stopped the race one more time. On the restart Hill and Mike Meyerhofer made contact stopping the race for the final time before the checkered.

Underway one more time ,May and Prestay put on a real show for the lead as the lead changed on lap twenty nine. May wasn’t finished or ready to settle for second, moving back out front one more time on lap thirty two, winning the race just ahead of Prestay who never let up, until the end. Patnode was third, as Burkoth recovered for fourth and Jeff Homgren Jr. was fifth.

Dan Clemenz pulled off the pole into the lead on the off set with Adam Regnier next. The event still looked like a parade lap at lap ten with John Maki Jr. and Sonny Schoffen racing for third. Five laps later Schoffen was now second, with Ken Esibrenner and Joe DeCubellis next. Clemenz easily held on to the lead for every lap of this non stop race. Schoffen was second, Eisbrenner third, DeCubellis fourth and Regnier fifth. A post race inspection dropped Clemenz from the finish and Shane Sapp in the Scott Norton car was fifth as Schoffen became the winner with everyone moving up a position.

The mini modified feature was only four laps old when Curt and Chris Thomazin tangled bringing the event to a stop with Ken Johnson out front of the field. With the green out again, Johnson walked away with the lead and easily won the feature event over fast qualifier Glen Vernezze, Mike VanHouten, Andy Krueger and a recovered Curt Thomazin.

This coming Saturday night marks the first ever regional qualifier for the bandolero cars and the second straight year the legends regional qualifier will be here.
