Tom Roney crossed the finish line first to win the Super Stock Mid-Season Champ- ionship feature.

Vincent Merry took the lead as the double greens were shown in the super late model feature, with Rob Summers, Michael Kruschke and Ron Stoehr in tight formation behind him. On lap ten Denny Hiffman and Mike Simon Jr. got together for the first Yellow book USA caution period. Before the caution Kruschke and Brandon Hill were in a dead heat for second, which resumed as Merry moved out front one more time. Eddie May   entered the fray on lap fifteen now in third position,as Fran Prestay worked on fourth place Kruschke. Further back Stoehr and Jerry Cowan were racing for the same spot, as starter Dave Rex warned Stoehr to “pick a lane”.After two more laps the black was shown to Stoehr for two more laps it was shown it again and then again.

On lap twenty Cowan and Stoehr made contact and the caution came out again. Stoehr sat on the infield and then went to the pits. Two tries ensued before the race recorded another lap. The first for a Brad Norgard ,Jason Hicks and Mike Simon incident. Then on the next restart May and Merry got together as the green came out, racing for the lead. This gave Prestay the lead and even a late race caution when fast timer Jamie Wallace and Cowan made contact, sending Cowan around. Had Prestay march back out front, as Kent Burkoth held back Jeff Holmgren Jr. for second. Hicks recovered for fourth and May was right there  for fifth.

The super stock feature got off to a rocky start,as the greens were displayed. The pack entered turn one all trying to win the event on that first lap. Then coming off turn two, Randy Schneider’s mount went flat,as everyone shattered. Before the dust cleared Dave Edwards received the most damage, as did John Maki Jr. who drove over Edwards left side, before bouncing clear. Both drivers escaped injury, but both mounts were damaged and neither driver could continue. Just one more lap was in when second generation driver Jamie Starks broke an axle.

Dan Clemenz moved in front again, establishing a large advantage by lap seven. The race right now was for second a Tom Jastrab, Willie Peterson and Schneider were putting on a show for that spot. Somehow Tom Roney moved from ninth to third by lap ten. Joining him was Mike Gunderson on lap eleven, as second through tenth was still very close. It took Roney and Gunderson seven more laps to move into second and third respectively. The final caution came on lap twenty two, as Clemenz slowed with problems. Roney was now the leader. For those next eight laps Gunderson tried everything in the book to get around the leader. But now Gunderson had quick qualifier Scott Norton waiting for a mistake. The finish was great, as Roney came across the line first, Gunderson, Norton, Ken Eisbrenner and Adam Regnier were next.

Denny Norton Jr.held onto the lead until lap five when John Fischer moved on top for just one lap. Norton moved back in front as Fischer had problems involving Gary Norton and the caution came out for it’s only appearance of the race.Norton neverreturned and Bobby Giers jumped in front before the field came off turn two, holding that posoition until lap eleven, when Jeremy Bloomberg who had smoothly moved through the field inched ahead.Erik Pierce worked on Giers until there were five laps to go. At the end it would be Bloomberg just in front of team mate Pierce, points leader Kenny Joosten, Giers and Jamie Dorsey for another bran burner finish.

This coming Saturday night will be the second trailer race of the season presented by RA Adams Enterprises of McHenry,IL. A full race program will also be on tap. Time trials begin at 5:45 pm. racing at 7 sharp.
