Big Labor Day Weekend at LGR!

August 26, 2004; Lake Geneva, WI. -  Just when all the other race tracks are winding down Lake Geneva Raceway, located in Lake Geneva,Wisconsin,is gearing up for the biggest part of the season.

Starting this coming Laborday weekend,Wisconsin’s busiest race facility will start off with the final weekly family fun night program on Friday night September 3rd. The season went fast, with the highest car count for the third season with this show.
This night the millennium late models, mini modifieds, bandolero cars, legends, sport trucks, Basic International cars and the open wheel Rascal outlaws will be here.

On the website and printed schedules that are out, the bandoleros were to race both nights, but because of the special on Saturday and the rescheduled rainout from July 3rd.they will race only on Friday. The championships will not be determined on that night. The millennium will have their championship on September 25th. All the small cars will be on October 1st. as Bilderback used auto parts of South Beloit, Illinois presents the 10th. annual small car world championships. All divisions that have competed on Friday night will race that evening, along with the Burris circle track karts.

Weekly pro motocross racing will take place at 8pm. on the stadium dirt course on the East end of the grounds. Because of the rainouts they will race through September 24th. This was not on the original schedule.

On Saturday night September 4th. Doug Rose and his green mamba jet dragster will make his annual appearance, about two months late due to rain over the July 4th. weekend. The super late models,super stocks and sportsman will race. For the first time since the new oval was built, the John Surges-led vintage modifieds stock car group will bring in 15 to 20 of the type of race cars that started here back in 1966. Time trials begin at 5:45 and the first race at 7pm.

On Monday September 6th. the Midwest Enduro stock car series presents with the help of Klements Sausage Company, the Mark”Tiny”Amborn memorial 301 lap race. This will be a family show,with a 40,000 coin pick up, sausage race and 4 cylinder enduro .The program begins with the coin grab at 12:45 pm.
