Auto Zone Elite Series Coming to LGR!

July 15, 2004; Lake Geneva, WI. -  The annual “Al Schill Jr. memorial 150 lap feature will again be part of the NASCAR elite series sponsored by Auto Zone parts stores.This show is set for Saturday night July 24th. a new date and a new month for the annual event and will take place at Lake Geneva Raceway, a one third mile paved banked oval track.The
facility is located between Chicago,Illinois and Milwaukee,just off the new Highway 120 south at Bloomfield Road,in Lake Geneva,Wisconsin.

Drivers like defending champion,Steve Carlson will be heading a field of regional race drivers. The big news is that some local drivers have entered the big show. Defending super late champion here, Jamie Wallace, a second generation driver knows this track very well.Randy Rodgers was testing Thursday June 10th. and turned some incredible laps. Jeff Way, a former legends car champion and Russ Blakeley a second generation driver will also be here, they are regulars in the elite series.

Al Schill,a multi time champion here,starting back in a open wheel winged modified in 1969,will be the Grand Marshall of the event.The feature race is named after his late son, Al Schill Jr. who died in March of 1999. Besides the 150 lap feature, there will be preliminary event and qualifying beginning the night.

Many drivers that started off in this series and originally the ARTGO series,ave gone on to National fame,uch as Dick Trickle, Richie Bickle, Matt Kennseth, Rusty Wallace ,Mark Martin and so many others. All of those drivers raced here at LGR.

The McHenry Limousine super stocks will again be the support division, racing a complete show towards their point championship, in September. Time trials begin a 5:45pm  and racing at 7 pm. for this program.Some more news, the ticket prices are really a bargain. For both the Friday night and Saturday night show, adult spectator prices are just $20. Juniors are only $10 and under 8 are free with any adult purchase.

These tickets will go on sale on July 16th. and can be purchased at the raceway office or at the front gate either Friday night. For more information call 262-248-8566.

On Friday night July 23rd. the regular Saturday night program will switch to that evening. The Jim Olson collision centers super late models,the Performance Unlimited Sportsman, the S&P motorsports millennium late models, the Lusia’s pizzeria mini-modifieds, the Rolling services BIC cars and the open wheel formula indy cars will all race on the same card.

Time trials begin at 6pm. racing at 7:30 sharp.
