LGR 2004 Schedule Released!

March 4, 2004; Lake Geneva, WI. - With stock car racing just over one month away Lake Geneva Raceway is gearing up for the 27th. annual BARS “let’s go racing” auto show. On March 19th.20th. and 21st. the Original Outlet Mall located at the southwest corners of I 94 and Highway 50 just 5 miles west of Kenosha,Wisconsin will be the scene of the largest indoor show of it’s kind in the country.The show is free to the public as race cars from Lake Geneva Raceway,known asWisconsin’s busiest race track along with many other clubs and Rockford Speedway will be ready for the 10,000 plus people to pass through the mall that weekend.

This season’s schedule has been revised afew times all ready but reads like this right now.Opening Saturday night will be April 3rd. with the super late models and super stocks being joined by the sportsman cars.Some special events during April
will be the Jefferson Speedway late models coming in on the 17th. to take on the LGR millennium race cars.Later on in the season the series will be on Friday nights some four times during the year.

Jefferson runs on Saturday night and will not be open yet for the first showdown .The idea came together with Kevin Dawson the LGR promoter and Terry Tucker the Jefferson promoter. The LGR cars will be at their track four times during the season. The dates will appear in the CFRN and on each of their websites.

The first “no bull” series events will be April 24th. with Olson Collison company sponsoring the series along with Five Star race car bodies. The other two nights will be May 25th. and August 21st.

Some of the other attractions will be one on one semi truck races on May 22nd. and August 7th. The very popular trailer races May 29th. July 17th and August 28th. School bus races May 8th. and September 11th.

The second season of the Midwest sportsman championship series will be held at LGR, Slinger and Rockford Speedway again.The first date here will be May 1st.

The Legends will have two regional shows here July 3rd. and August 21st.

Some of the other Friday night divisions will race some Saturdays during the season.Besides the millennium late,the Basic International cars,mini modifieds, Bandoleros, Legends,Formula Indy cars and sport trucks.

The weekly Friday nights begin May 21st. one week later than last season due to the area schools schedule to end.This show has grown into a high car count program.

The crowd is still growing and many promotions during the year will be aimed towards this show. ”If race fans come out and see this show they will be surprised and the drivers need to help too”,stated Dawson.” This show has a 100 car plus field most nights,but we are out of there by 10:30 pm.”, added Dawson.

Some special divisions coming in on Fridays besides the six regular ones, will be the super mini cups, Great Lakes Allison legacy cars and the open wheel Formula Indy cars. The Rascal outlaws which have been here for years,have yet to call.The season will run weekly through September 3rd.

The regular divisions are the millennium late models,mini modifieds, bandoleros, legends, Basic international and sport trucks.

The Midwest Enduro series will again be here,their season opener on Memorial Day May 31st.
