Mark "Tiny" Amborn Memorial to Roger Schultz!

October 30, 2004; Lake Geneva, WI. - It was a cold day with bitter wind as a good size crowd turned out for the finale oval track event of 2004 at Lake Geneva Raceway. Roger Scultz a second year driver won his first major event of his career and came home with $1500 by winning the first Mark”Tiny”Amborn memorial enduro. The event sponsored by
Brass Ball Mobil/Burger King was a Great Lakes Challenge series show.

The 250 lap race started off with the most spectacular incident of the day happening on lap 31,as Wes Nolan and Tony Prietzel made contact coming off turn four.Prietzel’s mount drove up onto the Nolan ride and flew higher into the air,than starter Kevin Lucas’s flag stand before the smoke cleared the car rolled many times,after nose diving onto the pavement. Both drivers escaped injury, but their day was over.

With just afew laps to go, Schultz took the lead for the win from last years winner Todd Booker who eventually finished second, about eight lapped cars were between them.Jason Spittle was the only other driver on the same lap in third. Bob Nelson was fourth,veteran Dennis Carlton was fifth, Natz Matz was sixth, with Mar DePorter, veteran Kevin
Lynn, 2004 Midwest Enduro stock car series champion Darryl Traber next, Brit Brommann tenth and the highest finishing female competitor Valerie Epright in her first appearance since totaling her car during the season, brought out the same car she demolished in a great run. Bill Urban was twelfth.
