Kocourek Wins The Big One, Humphrey Wins The Series!

by 5 points. There was a three way tie for second between Jerry Cowan, Jason Hicks and
Randy Rodgers. Adam Rgenier of Twin Lakes won his third McHenry Limousine 25 lap feature
of the season. Bob Koch of McHenry, Illinois won his fourth 15 lap Rolling services
Basic International feature of the year and scored another clean sweep.
The main event for 75 laps began with, Jamie Artelt jumping
right in front of the field with Shane Bishop ,Jerry Cowan, Jason Hicks and Eddie May in a
cluster for the front spot. Jeff Lorenz spun on lap nine bringing out the only Yellow Book
USA caution period. With the green back out May slipped into second with Artelt and Bishop
in a three way battle for the lead. Lap eleven Bishop pulled in front with dead heat for
second.Somehow May moved into the lead on lap sixteen, as things at the top were hot.
Kocourek was right behind Bishop entering lap twenty two, with Hicks and Jamie Wallace
next.
May led up until lap forty when Kocourek used a lapped car to his advantage and there was
a new leader. Once in front Kocourek moved through traffic quickly easily winning the
event over May, Jamie Wallace ,Jason Hicks, rookie Jeff Holmgren and Fran Prestay.
The super stock feature had Tom Boyd and Tom Fay wage a war for first place. A caution
came on lap three, as Ken Eisbrenner and Bob Moeller got together. John Maki Jr. forged
his way in front at the drop of the green, with Fay, Boyd,
and now Dave Edwards entered the picture. Boyd and Mike Bell tangled on lap nine, stopping
the race again.Maki moved out front again, with Edwards nipping at his bumper, with Adam
Regnier next.
The next caution came on lap fifteen when Dustin Holland and Tom Jastrab tangled.Maki
moved in front again, but Regnier, Scott Norton and Edwards, all wanted to be a part of
the action. Regnier was on the move, as he pulled along side Maki on lap eightteen, as the
two raced side by side until lap twenty began and there would be a new leader. One lap
later was the final caution of the event when Norton blew his engine, dashing his hopes
for back to back wins.
Regnier won the event with Jack Rubach the fast qualifier nipping Maki for second, fourth
was Craig Mertes, Adam Mass and Edwards followed.
It took Bob Koch nine laps to caught Marty Buler the early leader and go on to victory in
the fifteen lap event. Lenny Adams was second, with Bulter, Brit Bromann, point leader
Todd Miller and Matt Simms in his first night in sixth.
This coming Saturday night will be the trailer races sponsored by RA Adams Enterprises of
McHenry,IL. putting up extra cash for the super late models and super stocks. The BIC cars
will be back too.
Time trials begin at 5:45 pm.racing at 7pm.
On Sunday the Burris circle track karts performance at 10 am.
