Justin Diercks waves to the crowd after he won the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Midwest
series Al Schill, Jr Memorial 150 at Lake Geneva Raceway July 24th.

Adam Regnier won the super stock feature Saturday at LGR. |
This is just unbelievable, said Diercks. And
the thing that makes it even better is that I usually see Steve in my mirror. He is the
king of short-track racing, in my opinion, and to beat him is just awesome.
Diercks took the lead on lap 50 and withstood three late race restarts to claim the win by
.929-seconds over Carlson. Madison, Wisconsins Brian Hoppe, Sparta, Wisconsin driver
Tim Schendel and Erik Darnell, of Beach Park, Illinois, rounded out the top five.
Justin is just on a roll, his car is perfect, said Carlson. We had a
second place car again tonight.
The Al Schill, Jr Memorial 150 is run in honor of the promising second generation driver
who died in 1999, just hours after competing in the Midwest Series opener. Schill, Jr,
spent much of his abbreviated racing career at the Lake Geneva oval.
The Midwest Series next travels to Pikes Peak International Raceway, in Fountain,
Colorado, July 30-31, for the running of the Freedom 150. The Midwest Series will run on
the same card as the NASCAR Busch Series.
Two
In a Row For Regnier!

July 23, 2004;
Lake Geneva, WI. - The McHenry
Limousine super stocks raced as the support division to the NASCAR elite touring series at
Lake Geneva Raceway,Saturday night. In front of the large crowd Twin Lakes driver Adam
Regnier won his second feature in a row. The feature went for 30 laps because of the
special.
Mike Gunderson of Wind Lake, won the Chucks storage dash, part of the big show. Mike
Bell moved right out to a comfortable margin at the drop of the double greens. Tom Fay,
Trevor Mock, Ken Eisbrenner, Adam Regnier and Tom Jastrab were right behind the leader.
Steadly Regnier moved up and by lap ten he was second. The race fans got to see why these
are the best support division cars in the state, as the field came out of turn four on lap
twelve,Craig Mertes was running sixth and blew a water line, dumping water all over the
track, as he backed his mount in the wall under the flag stand. The field did a brilliant
job of missing Mertes and only Jastrab had his bumper cover ripped loose and went to the
pits for some quick repairs.
Everyone, but Mertes made it back before the green was out and then one lap later Regnier
grabbed the front spot.On lap nineteen John Janssen in Brent Masons race made his
way to second. On lap twenty two, quick qualifier Jack Rubach made his way past Janssen, two
laps later he was mounting a challenge to the leader. Regnier won the race with Rubach
second, Janssen took third, Bob Moeller was fourth, Mike Gunderson fifth and Tom Roney
sixth. in a very clean race.
This Saturday night the junior fan club has a big wheels contest before time trials. The
super late models, super stocks, sportsman and mini modifieds will race along with a
special trailer race due to so many entries on July 17th. The junior fan club presents
this show at 7pm.
