Grant Greenfield (37) on his way to winning the 15-lap Formula Indy feature
race Friday at Lake Geneva Raceway.

That wasn’t the end of Bilderback’s winning night. In the Perfection Auto Body legend cars the fourth week driver won his heat  and the 15 lap feature race for his first career victory, to top off the show.

Grant Greenfield, a second year driver from Waupun, won his first career 15 lap Formula Indy car feature, that went non stop. In the Findley Insurance Rascal Outlaws, Kip Novotny of Johnsburg,IL. won his second 15 lap feature of the season, the event went non stop. Chad Ross stopped the Vincent Merry winning streak at 3, by winning the Vazcom communications Midwest sport trucks 15 lap feature event and Lenny Adams of Crystal Lake,IL. won his first career 15 lap feature, for the Rolling services Basic International cars.

The Jim’s Budget Auto 6 lap dash went to Bob Koch of McHenry,IL.in the BIC cars.

It wasn’t a good night for Tony Riek who jumped the gun on the start of the BIC feature. Then on the second Yellow Book USA caution period on lap three, starter Todd Booker gave the 16th. in points driver the black flag for doing a brake of the field which created a ugly situation for the 9 cars behind the pole sitter.

Brit Bromann moved in front at the drop of the next green and held onto the top spot for the next three laps. Bob Koch in his new mount got some real good break after starting near the rear, then slipped around Bromann on lap six. It looked like the
race was over, but on lap eleven, Vladi Vladimirov who was right on the leader bumper made contact with the front runner and around went Bromann.

It was some smooth driving on the former leader part that kept him out of the wall and out came the caution one last time.

On the next green Koch couldn’t hold off Lenny Adams who started right along side of Koch in the seventh row, when the race began. Koch dropped out three laps later with only two laps to go. Adams went on to win the contest by just inches over fast timer Dan Ciannotti.who nipped Todd Miller who was right on the inside of these two. James Raderschadt was next, with Reid Kahrs Jr. fifth and Rod Brossart completed the top six,in a very close race.

The legends feature brought out a close field of cars, as Michael Bilderback fought with Clayton Krause for the lead, the first two laps, before the caution came out for a spin by Joe Scala. When the race resumed it was right back where the race stopped, with a Bilderback/Krause duel for the front spot.

Ernie Schaal went around on lap nine and the final caution was shown. On the restart, Krause jumped the start and for the first time there was a new leader, even thou it was only for a quarter lap, before Bilderback inched back in front and held
a clean line, moving on to the win over visiting Eric Lokemoen, Krause, point leader Lyle Kuklinski, quick qualifier Curt Gnatzig and Rob Duffek in another close race.

The open wheel rascal outlaws had hometown driver Rob Pollack pace the field, with John LeSage, Jeff LeSage, fast qualifier rookie Keith Christophersen and Steve Kreft. The field remained tight, but Kreft dropped out on lap six.The lead changed on the same lap as Jeff LeSage slipped in front. 2003 champion Butch Torkelson was moving up, but developed problems on lap eight and retired from the event.

Kip Novotny was on the move moving around the leader twice before securing the top spot and went to on easily win the feature. Following the winner was LeSage, Mark Findley, Christophersen, Pollack and Dale Olson.

Chad Ross led wire to wire in the sport truck feature over Todd Ross, fast time qualifier Tom Ross, Vincent Merry and the only female competitor Marty Gustum.

Kai McNulty who earlier won a heat, darted into the lead of the open wheel Formula Indy feature, with Grant Greenfield some distrance behind the leader.

Eric Ritchey, rookie Deron DeBoer, quick qualifier Vern Brown and Ken Losch Jr.in a cluster. With five laps to go Greenfield caught McNulty. These two put on quite the show with Greenfield taking the win over McNulty, Brown, Ritchey, DeBoer and Losch.

The bandolero feature was another close and exciting race as Bobby Yonkee lead the first lap, with Michael Cooter and Kyle LaPier in hot pursuit. LaPier pulled off a slick three deep move and charged in front on lap two. Michael Bilderback got along side Cooter on lap three, with Dwight Dunlap and Yonkee waging a war for fourth.

LePier and Bilderback put on a great show for the large crowd on hand. It looked like race would go down to the wire, but LePier bobbled only so slightly and Bilderback quickly used the situation to his benefit and there was a new leader with just two laps to go. It wasn’t an easy win for the point leader as Cooter jumped on the new leaders bumper. Bilderback took the win over Cooter, LaPier, Dunlap, Yonkee and Kyle Jusits in his first appearance since his injuries four weeks ago.

The millennium late models return this coming Friday night, with the open wheel Rascal outlaws back again. The mini modifieds are off this week.

Time trials are at 6pm.racing at 7:30 sharp. Kids under 8 are free with any spectator.
