LGR Season Opener plus First Midwest Sportsman
Championship Series Event on April 5th!

March 30, 2003; Lake Geneva, WI. - Now that the
26th. annual BARS lets go racingmotorsports show is history it means stock car
racing in southeastern Wisconsin kicks off the 2003 season at Lake Geneva Raceway.
Starting its 42nd. season of operation the first four seasons were only a dragstrip
now billed as the worlds fastestone third mile paved banked oval and the
dragstrip is long gone.
This facility will host over 64 events from April until late October. Starting with the
season opener on April 5th. the first Saturday night weekly program will include the
Budweiser super late models headed by Matt Kocourek of Racine the 2002 champion. Kocourek
will not be defending his championship but be here a few times during the season including
this night. Also here each week will be the McHenry Limousine super stock cars with Rob
Summers from Lake Geneva the champion from last season.
The special added attraction will be a new series special. The Midwest sportsman
championship series will also be on the card. A 40 lap feature will be on tap as drivers
compete in the first of eight shows in this new series. The Rockford Speedway and Slinger
Speedway will be the home of some of the events during the season.
James Swan of Lake Geneva is the defending champion of the Performance Unlimited Sportsman
cars that ran at LGR last season and many more this year.
Time trials will start at 5:45 pm. the first race at 7 pm. The raceway is located on
