Local Drivers to See Action in NASCAR Race at LGR!

June 22, 2003; Lake Geneva, WI. - When Lake Geneva Raceway Promoter Kevin Dawson opened his mail Monday much to his surprise were some interesting entries for the International Truck and Engine NASCAR touring elite series coming to the raceway Saturday night June 28th.

Current LGR point leader Jamie Wallace of Pell Lake has secured a ride in the Jerry Gunderman race car out of Franklin. Other new entries include Al Schill also of Franklin a multi time champion here, who’s late son Al Schill Jr. the race is named after. Tim Sauter from the LaCrosse area has now entried. Other new drivers are Chad Barker of Hubertus and Jeff Way a former Legends champion here out of Waterford.

“This is great the race fans will see the top regional drivers and some of the local favorites will be here too,this makes me very happy for them” stated Dawson. Eddie Hoffman of Westchester,IL. John Nautley of Posen,IL. along with all the regular NASCAR series drivers like Steve Carlson, Jeremy Lepak, Brian Hoppe and all the rest are looking for the points battle to tighten with the 150 lap feature that will top off the evening.

The McHenry Limousine super stocks one of the states support divisions will be here too.The point leader is second year driver Sonny Schoffen of Crystal Lake,IL. leading a field of some 30 drivers that compete weekly.

Time trials begin at 5:45 pm. first race at 7 pm. Tickets are available at the raceway office or at the raceway Friday night.For more information call 262-248-8566. Friday night racing continues with a special as the regular Saturday night show switches evenings with four divisons of action.
