Now its 2002 and the flat oval track has a state of the art one third mile paved banked oval built on and around it. With the 25th. annual BARS Lets Go racing auto show behind us the next is the weekly competition of the Budweiser super late models and the McHenry Limousine super stocks. Performance Unlimited sportsman and Sideline Motorsports Sport Trucks in an all feature program plus dash races and time trials. This week only time trials will be at 6pm. racing at 7:30pm sharp. The rest of the season time trials begin at 5:45 pm and races at 7pm. Originally an earlier release stated different times but this time should help drivers that have to work to make it here in time. The super late models will not have a defending champion as Landry Potter of Genoa City, who also finished in the top ten during the recent BARS show out of 83 entries. Potter will run a limited ASA schedule during the coming season. Multi champion Al Schill of Franklin will be back to run weekly, another former champion Jamie Wallace is tough and the driver who averaged the highest per night in points last season Billy Skinner Jr will be on hand. Also expected to compete are 2001 millennium champion Rick Corso, who also ran a super late last season, 2001 rookie of the year Wayne Freimund and another 5 drivers could all be in the hunt for that top spot. The super stocks will have defending champion Jack Rubach of Burlington looking for another good year. But others like runner up Mike Kooi, Adam Regnier, Dave Melahn, Rob Summers and part of the Antioch connection including Dan Huber, Craig Mertes and John Maki Jr. are all looking at number one. The sportsman drivers have a defending champion too, as Mike Lange of Milwaukee will be back but the mild winter has not helped his team with only three snow falls this past season. Lange has his own plowing company that stuffered because of the season. Runner up Brian Baker who also fared well in the BARS show and is a seasoned veteran is looking at the title. Zac Deeringer, Shawn Utphall and Denny Norton Jr. could keep the field in check. For more information call 262-248-8566.
