February 18, 2002; Lake Geneva, WI. With stock car racing less than two months away drivers that compete at Lake Geneva Raceway are getting ready for the biggest mall racing show in the Midwest before heading to the one-third mile paved banked oval on April 6th..

The 25th. annual BARS “Let’s Go Racing” show is set to take place March 22nd.23rd. and 24th. it the Original Outlet Mall on I-94 at Highway 50 just 8 miles west of Kenosha,Wisconsin.

This is a very special run of this show that started at the Belvidere Mall in Waukegan, Illinois a quarter of a century ago. Mike Babicz the promoter of the show was part of the now defunct Waukegan Speedway that was right down the street from the mall.

Babicz has kept the show going with the help of Lake Geneva Raceway the Midwest Enduro series and Wilmot Speedway drivers along with many other racing groups. LGR drivers will be there in full force one of which is expected the 2000 and 2001 champion Landry Potter of Genoa City. Potter has won the best of show award on four occasions. Last year Potter his crew and car owner Mariyln Westman had an awesome display and finished second in a large field of all types of race cars.

Because of limited space drivers that planning to be in the show should call Mike for a free entery. His phone number is 847-855-0019 after 7 pm week days. This show is one of the largest free admission events in the country.
