Roger Lee paced the field of the unlimited class feature with Ron Schmitt right at his side. Suddenly Terry Patnode who was running third quickly moved into the lead before the fourth lap began. Rick Corso slipped into second on lap seven and set out after the leader. With ten laps in the books it was Patnode, Corso, Gary Raven and Mark Brunner. Schmitt and Raven made contact on lap thirteen with Raven taking a few seconds to recover but the intense pace continued as no caution was needed. Corso worked on the leader for five more laps before taking over the point but fast timer Matt Schultz didnt let the new leader out his grasp with Patnode now third. With five laps to go it looked like it would be the first time a regular paved track car would pull off a win but as the white flag came out Schultz closed in on the leader and coming off turn third it was a dead heat then off of turn four Corso had the edge but coming across the line Schultz was a nose piece ahead for the win. Corso was second with Patnode, Brunner, and Raven under a blanket for a great non stop feature. Erik Engel charged in front of the super stock feature with Mike Gunderson, Dan Huber and Norm Paulsen on his tail. Before the lap could be completed Mike OHaver spun bringing the race to a halt. Engel moved back in front with Gunderson now at his side. Two laps later Gunderson was in front with Huber right with the new leader. As the laps were recorded Gunderson looked like he was holding the advantage as Rob Summers the quick qualifier was now challenging Huber starting on lap twelve Jack Rubach worked on Summers and took over the third position one lap later as Bob Moeller slipped under Paulsen one lap later. Jeff Boettcher joined the fray at the top on lap fifteen and it was close second through tenth. With ten laps to go Gunderson was coming off turn two way ahead of the field and suddenly darted to the infield with problems.Summers and Huber who had been dicing for second were side by side for the lead. Summers gained the lead on lap twenty one and held on for the win nine laps later. Rubach took second with Moeller and Boettcher nearly a draw for third as Huber held onto fifth in another close contest. It took Mark English fourteen laps to climb into the front spot after Tom Ross led since lap four who ended up second in the 4 cylinder feature that turned into another close event. John Vassh took over the lead with three laps to go winning the vintage feature over Tim Paisley, Larry Hoeler, Kenny Gilbert and fast timer Matt Lepperd. The next event will be the Midwest enduro stock car series Goblin 250 enduro on Saturday afternoon October 19th. There will be a BIC mini feature enduro along with other events.
