Great
Lakes Allison Legacy Series event canceled.

June 1, 2001; Lake Geneva, WI. - With over 115 race cars in the pit area, timing had
just been completed when rain fell over the area. Because of the cool temperatures and
time it would have taken to dry the cold surface, officials cancelled the race program for
weekly Friday night racing at Lake Geneva Raceway.
This was an even deeper disappointment for
everyone due to the fact that the first ever, Great Lakes Allison legacy series events
were cancelled too. Some twenty five drivers from four states were on hand for this event.
The next time the series returns will be August 24th. the final Friday night of the
season.The second appearance of the season for the Formula Indy cars was also scrapped due
to the weather that has been in the area some twelve days. This open division will return
on Friday June 22nd.
Next Friday the first appearance of the
mini cup cars arrives to the one third mile paved banked oval. Along with the Herb's mini
modifieds, Perfection Auto Body legends, the BIC cars, the millennium late models and the
Sideline Motorsports sport trucks. Time trials begin at 6 pm. racing at 7:30 pm.
