May 18, 2001; Lake Geneva, WI. -  It was the first night of Friday night racing at Lake Geneva Raceway as records fell with a new record of 115 race cars in the pit area and a large crowd in the grandstand, on Beloit and Popular Grove, Illinois night here at Lake Geneva Raceway

Rick Corso (#88) scored a clean sweep in Millennium Late Model action at Lake Geneva Raceway. Bruce Barry (#911) took home the BIC car feature event on the first Friday evening show of the season at Lake Geneva. Todd Ross (#00) was out front of the Sport Truck feature when the checkered flag fell.

Winning the Herb's mini modified 15 lap feature was racing Rich Musgrave of Des Plaines,IL. in a close battle with defending champion Ken Johnson who took second in the event.Musgrave took the lead on lap three of the contest ,finishing just in front of a charging pack. Joe Miller was third, with Duck Wack runner up last season fourth. Jeff Schultz and Mike Van Houston rounded out the top six.

The Perfection Auto Body Legend cars were another tight feature, as Curt Gnatzig who had second in time won the 20 lap feature. Al Smith was second, with Clayton Kruse, Herman Grenig, Brad Popp and Joe Scala next.

The open wheel action of the Formula Indy race cars was all about Neil Gillentine who took a clean sweep by winning the 20 lap feature at the line after first taking fast time and winning his heat. Tony Wallace chased the winner for second, with Vern Brown ,Tom Cormack Dick Heath and Ken Losch Jr. under a blanket for another great feature.

Todd Ross won his second 15 lap Sideline Motorsports sport truck features of the season, as Vincent Merry, point leader Bill Olson, Bill VanKirk ,Chad Ross and rookie Tom Ross rounding out the top six.

The millennium late models were short on cars but not on action as Rick Corso held on for the win in the 15 lap contest. Defending champion Russ Blakley was second, with Luke Westenburg runner up in points last year third. Jack Kossow, Chris Mathers and the childrens favorite Tommy "the shark" Nevoso next.

Over 60 BIC cars timed in with around 5 more coming in late,as two semi's were completed, with Matt Sima and Dale Gustum winning the events. Bruce Barry nipped Todd Booker for the win of the 20 lap feature.

Point leader Chris Koleno Sr. was third, with Bill Horvat fast quaifier fourth, Brit Browman and Ken Knaak completed the top six, in this wild race to the delight of the fans.

Weekly Friday night racing continues with the first of three oval track programs. The Rascal Outlaws

and the sport trucks join the four regular divisions. Tiem trials begin at 6 pm. racing at 7:30 sharp.
