One of the best features of the night was the mini modifieds even though Mike VanHouten moved from row two and into the lead all in the first lap. Quickly Hermie Schultz shot along side the leader with Bill Trusky and Duck Wack in hot pursuit.On lap four first last weeks feature winner Joe Miller started his quest forward first getting past Wack, then Schultz as Trusky moved into second.

Within a few laps there were two drivers knocking on the leaders door starting a new three deep battle up front.There was no room for mistakes as Ken Johnson in the Glen Verneeze mount looked for an opening. Fast time qualifier Scott Kuxhouse followed Johnson’s every move.Up front VanHouten was holding a slim advantage over the field.

With the two laps to go signal the race was for any of six positions, as VanHouten held the point for the win over Miller, Johnson and Kuxhouse nipped Trusky at the wire as the top five finished under a blanket.

Another great feature was the legends which was only one lap old when Lyle Kuklinski spun around in front of the field. Everyone missed him but the caution was displayed for the incident. Robb Duffek moved
In front one more time with Larry Will right there. On lap three Curt Gnatzig climbed along side the leader

Racing side by side one the reminder lap before the top spot changed. With the next two laps close Al Smith crept along side the new leader and it was another picture perfect run for the top.On lap five Smith inched ahead with Gnatzig now feeling the pressure from Clayton Kruse who just past Will and Duffek.With just five laps to go Duffek and Kuklinski tangled. No one was injured but there was some damage to the Duffek mount.

Another five lap dash had the crowd on their feet as Smith came home the winner, Gnatzig held onto second with Kruse holding back Herman Grenig with Will taking fifth in another close race.

In the millennium late model feature former Columbus 151 champion Scott Patrick held the lead until lap ten before point leader Rick Corso moved out front. Tommy Nevoso who set fast time didn’t let the new leader out of his sight but with only two laps to go Nevoso headed to the pits with problems. Corso held back Patrick with Steve Maciosek next.

With 55 BIC cars in the pit area the twenty that started the feature race went non stop as Ken Knapik led all twenty laps of the event. Bill Webb rebounded twice but fell short at the wire finishing second. Last weeks feature winner Tony Buerafato was third with Nick Kalties along side for fourth and next to him fast timer Jeff Baum fifth.

Next Friday night will be the third to the last weekly program for the family fun night program. Points will end with the Small car world championships on Friday September 28th. For all regular Friday Night divisions.The sport trucks and Rascal Outlaws are back again to join the BIC cars mini modifieds Legends and millennium late models. Time trials begin at 6pm. racing at 7:30 pm sharp.
