Dan Tschida (#34) scored his second Super Stock feature win of the 2001 season, leading the field to the checkered flag.

The super late model feature was a dead heat with Paul Loppnow and Jerry Mueller as the green flag Came out. Lap two as these two diced for the lead Loppnow had the advantage. Lap three brought out the first of many caution flags, as Ryan Matthews and Billy Baumeister got together. One lap later Baumeister spun causing a false start. The next green gave Jerry Cowan some minor damage as the outside row brake checked each other. Up front Mueller had Rick Corso former Mid American champion trying everything to get by. There wasn’t any room at the top with this twosome in a rage.

Three laps later Brad Durbin joined the front runner in a three way battle for the top. On lap twelve Durbin inched into second with it was too close to call. Mueller did everything right as Durbin got out of square two laps later with Corso back in second. By lap nineteen it was side by side for the lead. Each go around Mueller was in front. Four more laps in the books and lapped traffic was coming up but first the caution appeared for a Denny Hiffman spin.

On lap twenty seven Matt Kocourek received lots of damge as Randy Rodgers Joe Fischer and Landry Potter were collected by a Corso spin in turn two. Pulling the cars apart took less time than the hot tempers that ensued the incident. Wayne Friemund gave chase to the leader but Durbin was right there too.

Another spin in the field brought out the checkered and the caution eneding this race. Mueller won the event with Durbin edging Friemund at the wire for second. Billy Skinner was fourth with Jamie Wallace and Baumeister recovering for sixth. A post race inspection dropped Durbin to last with carb modifications moving everyone up one spot.

Jeremy Olson in the John Maki Jr. mount out front of the twenty car field. Erik Engel, Scott Scholl and Mike Bell dueled for second. Quickly Dan Tschida moved into fourth, then third with only four laps in. Just one lap later Olson could feel the pressure of Tschida. Andy Szymanskyj spun onto the infield on lap nine while running sixth just as the lead changed hands.

The first an only caution came on lap eleven as the car of Dave Edwards got the worse damage from a Scott Eggebrecht and Rob Summers incident starting in turn four and ending with Eggebrecht receiving a black flag for his part in the melee.

On the restart Scholl climbed all over Olson as Tschida scooting away from the pack. Olson slowed quickly as Adam Regnier got by and Dave Melahn in the Greg Peterson mount. There were numerous changes behind the leader but when the checkered flew Tschida had the race won. Regnier held back Mike Kooi for second with Doug Peterson fourth. Melahn was fifth in this tight field with fast timer and point leader Jack Rubach sixth.
