Run What Ya' Brung Snowed Out!

October 7, 2000; Lake Geneva, WI. - When Lake Geneva Raceway owner and promoter announced on his radio show, this morning on WLKG that he was canceling the season finale, many of us wondered. Because at 8:30 am. the sun was out and sure it was cold, for the final scheduled weekly Saturday Night program of the years. By race time at 5 pm. the snow and freezing rain was in the area and the weekly season finale for the 2000 season would never take place.

There will be no make up date, as next weekend most of the super stocks, will be at Rockford Speedway and the following weekend, the Midwest Enduro series presents the original Goblin 250 enduro race, on the 22nd. of October. So the season is officially over, for weekly racing.

Kevin said," I hate to cancel the BIC car championship race and the 19th. Annual Run What Ya Brung program. All week there were drivers practicing for the event. They came out with sprint cars, modifieds and some real fast super late models, we had to call the show. We thank the drivers, fans and sponsors for their support this season".

The annual awards banquet is slated for Saturday night January 27th. 2001 at Rampoles Banquet Hall and Bowling center in Twin Lakes.

Then the Lake Geneva Raceway will participate in the BARS "Let's go racing show" on  March 23, 24 and 25th. at the Original Outlet Mall on I-94 and Highway 50, just west of Kenosha.

The 2001 season opener for Lake Geneva Raceway is Saturday night April 8th. The rules meetings are the next two weekends, as announced last week.
