Rain,
rain and then more rain stopped action at LGR! A small band of showers came through the area at 3 p.m. The track was ready to race by 4:15 p.m., but then at 4:32 p.m. a huge storm hit the area, dumping some three inches of rain. By 8:00 pp.m., the track was ready to be raced on and the first heat came to the line and the rain started again. From 5:30 p.m. until 7:20 p.m., the officials and many drivers helped get the surface ready. Power/Vac and Evergreen Lawn Service, pumped some 8,000 gallons of water from the infield. This coming Saturday night will be Jasper Engines and Transmission night. The I-CAR modifieds touring series, along with many Midwest Modified drivers will make their first ever appearance on the third mile oval.
